Volovans are french dish which is made from puff pastry. It's easier to use store-bought than to make your own, especially if you have no idea how to do it right.


Served hot and cold.

Ingredients: puff pastry- 700 g, yolks - 4 pcs., spices, salt, herbs, sour cream - 2 tsp, processed cheese - 200 g, flour.

Sprinkle flour on a cutting surface. Roll out puff pastry. Take two glasses of different sizes. Cut out circles with a larger glass.

With a smaller glass, cut out circles inside.

Grease the edges of the dough a little with a beaten egg, glue one ring on top, grease the edges again and put the second ring.

Place the fritters on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the flounces with beaten egg. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and put the flounces in there. Let bake until golden brown. They bake quickly.

In the meantime, grate the yolks on a fine grater, grate the melted cheese on a coarse grater in the same bowl.

Chop up the greens.

Transfer to cheese and yolks. Add spices. Stir. If the cheese is quite hard, add some sour cream.

Press the bottom of the finished vol-au-vents a little.

Start flounces.

Tartlets with chicken and mushrooms

Another option from the dough is shortbread or puff tartlets. They serve as containers for salads. They are also easy to buy ready-made. We offer one of the recipes.


To make smoked chicken tartlets you will need: raw mushrooms- 150 g, smoked chicken- 100 g, processed cheese - 100 g, tartlets - 8-10 pieces, mayonnaise, garlic - 2 cloves.

Finely chop the mushrooms and fry, cut the chicken into small cubes.

Grate melted cheese. It is better to put it in the refrigerator for 10 minutes beforehand. Grate the garlic too. Mix all prepared ingredients in a bowl.

Season with mayonnaise. Mix well. Fill the tarts.

Decorate with greenery.
