1. We sell pollock frozen, so I defrost the fish before cooking.

2. Cut the onion into small cubes. Carrots for three coarse grater. Place the frying pan on the stove, add 3 tablespoons of oil and fry the vegetables until they become soft (no need to fry too much).


3. Grease a baking sheet with vegetable oil, then lay out the fried carrots and onions. Next, place our fish, cut into pieces, on a vegetable bed. Previously salted and peppered to taste.


3. Cut the tomatoes into circles and place them between the pollock.


4. In a separate container, mix sour cream, mayonnaise, a glass of water and a teaspoon of salt. Pour the mixture over our fish.

  • Pollock - 1 kg.
  • Potatoes - 8 pcs.
  • Hard cheese - 200 gr.

1. First of all, we need to deal with our marine inhabitants, as you may have guessed, we are talking about our fish. I have it whole, although you can use fillet for this dish, it will also be no less tasty. So, we peel off the husks, get rid of the fins and entrails, and cut into medium-sized pieces. We rinse, give a little time to drain the water and add a little salt.

Important! Be sure to remove the dark film in the abdominal cavity, otherwise it will impart a bitter taste to the finished dish.

4. Place a layer of onion on the fish, which will add flavor and juiciness. Then a layer of carrots. Next sprinkle with grated cheese. We get a slide like this, but don’t be alarmed, we will level it later when we form the baskets.


5. Now we need to carefully bend the foil, forming the sides. This will be our basket or plate in which our delicious food will be baked. Instead of a basket, you can make a boat, at your discretion. We slightly press down the contents of the form on top, thereby leveling it.

  • 500 g pollock;

  • 100 g carrots.

Step-by-step recipe for pollock in the oven

Wash the pollock carcasses, clean them, trim off the fins and any excess. Next you need to cut it crosswise into pieces, 3-4 cm is enough. Sprinkle the fish with salt, pepper, grind the spices, add sour cream. Set aside for 10 minutes.

Now is the time to get started on vegetables. Slice the onion very thinly, you can make half rings or strips. Peel the carrots and grate.

Spread foil on a baking sheet, but do not tear it off, grease with oil. Place a thin layer of onion on top and distribute pieces of pollock in sour cream on it.

Transfer the pieces of pollock fillet along with mayonnaise into a mold. Coarsely grate the cheese and immediately add the fish. If there is not enough cheese, then it’s okay, the crust will just be thinner.

Place the pollock fillet in the oven and cook for 20-22 minutes at 200 degrees. Let's focus on cheese. As soon as a nice crust appears, you can remove the fish.

It is very important not only to cook correctly, but also to defrost the fish. It is unacceptable to immerse pollock or its fillet in warm water, keep it on a heating radiator or simply in a hot place, or use a microwave oven. Nothing good will come of this approach. It is better to take out the pollock in advance and keep it on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator for 8-12 hours so that it slowly thaws.

Cut the washed lemon in half. Squeeze and pour the juice over the prepared pieces. Immediately sprinkle with fish seasoning and add mayonnaise or sour cream. Stir thoroughly.

Step 3:
Chop the onion into strips and add to the chopped pollock. You can leave it to marinate or start cooking right away. Preheat the oven to 180-190 degrees.

We unfold the foil, but do not tear it off the roll, place the free edge into the mold, making small sides, and distribute the pieces of fish in an even layer.

Unroll a little more foil and cover the pollock on top. We twist the bottom and top edges to make a closed package.

Place the package with fish in the oven for 20 minutes. Then carefully pull out the mold (or baking sheet), use a knife to pry off the foil, cut it and unfold it to the sides. Cook the pollock for another 10 minutes.

Even if the recipe does not include onions, you can place them under the fish so that it does not stick to the pan or to a piece of foil. You can also use chopped or grated carrots.

Option 5: Pollock with potatoes in the oven

The easiest and most delicious way to cook pollock with potatoes in the oven. The fish turns out juicy and tender; no additional side dish is needed for it. This recipe is also with mayonnaise, but you can also use sour cream, only with a good fat content of at least 20%. Bake for 35 minutes at 180 degrees. Then sprinkle the pollock a little with grated cheese and cook for about ten more minutes. We check the potatoes by piercing them. If it is cooked, you can remove the dish.

  • 0.7 kg pollock;
  • 2 carrots;
  • 3 onions;
  • 130 g sour cream;

How to cook
