We will wash and sterilize jars and lids in advance in a way convenient for you. I sterilized the jars in the oven, it's simple, fast, and you can load a lot at once.

The most time-consuming part of preparing sea buckthorn with sugar for the winter is picking sea buckthorn berries from a branch. We cut off the berries carefully, discard the thorns and leaves to the side. We wash the berries in cold water, and shift a deep bowl.

Then we measure required amount sugar, and knead the sea buckthorn berries with a potato masher. I did not use a blender or a meat grinder, because this kind of processing will damage the stone and skin of the berries, and this will affect the taste of the workpiece. Therefore, we work with our hands, and we will not get dirty in vain kitchen appliances 😊.

Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. That's all - sea buckthorn mashed with sugar is ready. It remains only to pack the blank into banks, and ensure proper storage.

We fill dry sterile jars with sea buckthorn, departing from the neck by about 1 cm, as in my photo.

We fill the space in the jars with the remaining sugar to the top, just like in my photo.

We screw the jars with sea buckthorn lids, and send them for storage in the refrigerator. You can also use capron lids.
