7. Chicken baked with oranges turns out to be unusually festive, bright, tasty and aromatic. Wash the chicken thoroughly, dry it, chop it in portioned pieces and place in a deep bowl. In a separate bowl, mix the juice of three oranges, 100 g. liquid honey, 50 gr. olive oil, two crushed cloves of garlic, 1 teaspoon of ground coriander, 2 teaspoons of turmeric, salt and red pepper to taste. Pour the resulting marinade over the chicken pieces and leave for one hour in a cool place to marinate. Place the marinated chicken in a baking dish, pour over the remaining marinade, and place one thinly sliced orange on top. Bake in an oven preheated to 180⁰ for 45 - 60 minutes. Do not forget to periodically brush the chicken with the rendered juice and fat using a pastry brush.

WE WILL NEED:
- 270 g flour
- 150 g butter (margarine)
- 100 g powdered sugar (sugar)
- 2 yolks
- zest of half a lemon (orange)
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar (vanillin on the tip of a knife)
- pinch of salt (1/3 tsp)
- thick jam (jam)
- powdered sugar (for sprinkling finished cookies)
Let's start preparing the dough.
- Place the softened butter (or margarine) in a bowl. Add sugar (or powdered sugar) with vanilla, and grind everything thoroughly.
- Grate the zest of half a lemon on a fine grater.
- Add the yolks and grind everything thoroughly. Add 250 g in two doses. flour, and the remaining 20 gr. pour it onto the table under the dough. Knead a soft plastic dough, try not to add more flour - to avoid excessive hardness.
- The photo shows how soft and pliable the dough is. Great! Now let's wrap it in cling film and put it in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
- We will roll out the dough like this interesting method- between two sheets of parchment paper. Since the dough is very tender, we don’t need extra flour at all. Roll out the dough to a thickness of 4-5 mm. This is the thickness that will allow the cookies to remain soft and not too thick.
- Remove the top parchment. We take a mold in the shape of a large heart and begin to form our sweet valentines right on the sheet. Let’s put the dough that remains into action again: gather it into a ball, roll it out and make a few more hearts.
- Now take a smaller heart shape and cut out things like this. At the same time, we also form a bunch of small hearts.
- Place the dough in a hot oven at 180 degrees. For 7-10 minutes, but you need to make sure they are ready - the cookies should remain soft, not overdried, and light.
- Sprinkle our hearts with a recess with powdered sugar.
- Place a spoon on whole large heart-cookies thick jam- to the very middle. Glue sprinkled powder on top top part. It turns out to be a two-layer valentine with a beautiful colored center and snow-white sprinkling. If you take jam of different colors, you will have an even more beautiful dish. Perhaps these cookies do not look as perfect in appearance as the cookies from the previous recipe, and perhaps their photo will not appear on the covers of popular women's magazines, but believe me, you will not be able to forget this unique nutty taste and aroma for a long time!
For the marzipan mass we will need:
- 80 gr. almonds
- 60 gr. powdered sugar
- 1 egg - only the white is needed
- 1 tsp liqueur
First, prepare the marzipan mass.
1 Pour boiling water over almonds, dry and chop on a fine grater, coffee grinder or blender. 2 Beat the whites with powdered sugar into a thick mass and combine with the nut mixture. We also add a spoonful of liqueur. Leave for 2-4 hours in the refrigerator.Prepare the dough.
For the test let's take:
- 100 gr. butter
- 70 gr. Sahara
- 150 gr. flour
- 1\2 tsp. baking powder for dough
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 150 gr. marzipan mass
It turns out that such culinary masterpieces can be made using own kitchen with your own hands! And it's not difficult at all.
For this recipe the usual parchment paper won't suit us. It is best to use siliconized paper, or even better, a reusable Teflon baking mat. On it, the back side of the gingerbread cookies will be even and smooth, and the caramel will not stick to the mat.
To roll out the dough evenly, you can use 2 strips half a centimeter thick (can be made of cardboard, plastic, etc.). The dough is placed between them and when rolled out with a rolling pin, the thickness of the layer we need is formed.
Molds of two hearts - larger and smaller, to create a “rim” strong enough in width (so that the cookies do not break).
It is best to take caramel like this, red and pink. because red and pink are the most popular colors for hearts and valentines on February 14th.
Or you can take this composition:
- 250-300 g flour
- 100 g butter room temperature
- 100 g sugar (brown can be used)
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp honey
- 0.5 tsp soda

Mix everything and grind thoroughly in a bowl. The glaze is ready when a drop of it placed on a plate does not spread. This glaze can be used to decorate cookies (and any confectionery) both by covering them completely with icing, and by drawing patterns and lines using a pastry syringe or envelope.
You can also put simple paper red hearts on a plate with such cookies, with wishes and declarations of love written on the back - it will turn out elegant and unusual, solemn and exciting - quite in the spirit of this wonderful holiday!
