Chinese cabbage and corn salad recipes - sweet tenderness. Chinese cabbage salad with chicken and corn

Salads are a real lifesaver that will help out in any situation: be it an unexpected arrival of guests, a family dinner or a chic banquet. Depending on the ingredients included, they can be light, dietary, and also very nutritious and satisfying.

The “hero” of our article – salad with chicken and Chinese cabbage – belongs to the “golden mean”. That is, it can be called both dietary thanks to the tender Chinese cabbage and chicken meat, and satisfying at the same time due to the large amount of fiber contained in the vegetable.

Peking cabbage - a native of China - is often called salad for a reason. After all, its leaves, unlike the white cabbage leaves, are never rough and hard. It is very juicy and delicate in taste, so you can prepare countless tasty and healthy salads based on it.

Peking cabbage in combination with chicken meat is in perfect harmony with fresh and canned vegetables, green peas, cheese, herbs, sausage, seafood, crackers, garlic, eggs, fish products and even fruits. Cabbage is not endowed with a strong smell and taste, so it does not stand out too much in salads, but only adds a touch of freshness to dishes. In addition, it is able to impart juiciness to even the driest dish.

The cabbage does not require any pre-treatment: just wash it and cut it into thin strips or beautiful, even cubes. But with the chicken you will have to tinker a little. Firstly, remove the skin from the meat (you must admit, a salad with skin will somehow not look very appetizing) and excess fat; secondly, boil the meat until tender and cool. It is also permissible to fry the fillet in vegetable oil, and in some recipes, use it smoked.

  2. It is better to purchase chicken for salad chilled rather than frozen. Give preference to young bird carcasses - up to one year old, weighing no more than 1.5 kg. The meat of young chickens has a more delicate structure and high taste, unlike older birds.

Recipe 3: Delicious Chinese Cabbage Salad

In order for a salad to be dietary, it must contain only fresh ingredients. These are Chinese cabbage and tomatoes.

To make a salad with Chinese cabbage and mussels, a recipe with a photo of the preparation of which is offered, I put pickled mussels in it. Since the mussels are marinated and already salted, I don’t put salt in the salad itself. It is worth noting the high value of such a product as mussels. Their meat contains valuable protein, and there is no fat in them. Thus, having prepared and eaten a salad of mussels, Chinese cabbage and tomatoes, you will have a hearty lunch and will be able to do whatever you want until the evening: walk, work, relax. This salad does not weigh down the body and stomach, but at the same time fills you with strength and energy. This salad has few calories, so it can safely be called dietary. Low-calorie salads will help you watch your figure and be in great shape without starving yourself.

  • 1/3 head of Chinese cabbage;
  • 200 grams of tomato;
  • 150 grams of marinated mussels;
  • 30-40 grams of mayonnaise.

I cut tender, fresh cabbage thinly using a sharp knife. Peking cabbage is very easy to chop, because its leaves are very soft and not hard.

I cut fresh tomatoes into large slices. There is no point in cutting the tomatoes finely, otherwise they will release a lot of juice in the salad and a puddle may form at the bottom of the plate.

I add tomatoes to the cabbage and start assembling the salad.

I drain the marinade from the pickled mussels and put the shellfish in the salad.

I pour a small amount of mayonnaise over the salad and mix lightly using a couple of spoons or forks. I don’t crush the salad so that it retains its fluffy shape. The less mayonnaise you add, the better. But you shouldn’t completely exclude this sauce from the salad. The taste will not be the same. You always need to know when to stop. One or two spoons of mayonnaise for a large portion of salad will not harm you.

Immediately transfer the prepared salad onto a plate. I spread it in a heap.

Sprinkle with any herbs and lunch is ready!

I serve a salad with Chinese cabbage and mussels to the table so that everyone can try a tasty, dietary and unusual appetizer.

Peking cabbage should be cut into small strips 5-7 millimeters wide. The white juicy part also needs to be cut. We don’t lose sight of it, because it is very tender, so you don’t even have to crush the cabbage slices.

Add green onions, chopped into wheels, to the cabbage. Greens, of course, can be replaced with onion counterparts, but then the salad will not be so bright and beautiful.

The next ingredient is corn. It is desirable that the canned grains be tender and small in size, therefore, for this salad it is better to choose a high-quality product from a brand you have tested.

Finally, add chicken meat. First, the breast must be boiled for 20-30 minutes in boiling water. To make the meat for salad more tasty, you need to put it in boiling water when cooking. Cool the finished breast, and then chop it into small pieces with a knife or hands.

Salt the finished salad to taste and season.

The dish can be served on the table in a common salad bowl. Or on serving plates.
