Rum and strawberry cocktail

Ingredients:

Rum is known to everyone from fairy tales from childhood. Dashing pirates celebrated with them any event that takes place in their bandit life. In fact, rum is an ordinary moonshine, which is made by distilling sugar cane. But what cannot be taken away from him is his originality. Moreover, the drink is good both in pure form and in mixes. Rum cocktails have gained immense popularity and have become one of the most ordered drinks in all the bars of Europe.

Rum is divided into two types:

  1. White;
  2. Dark.

Almost all rum cocktail recipes use the first option. The reason lies in the peculiarities of the preparation of dark rum: after distillation, it is kept in oak barrels, and then seasoned with brown molasses, caramel and a few other flavors.

In cocktails, additives with pronounced flavors are often used: cola, juice, and many others. And these additives simply interrupt the taste original drink. Therefore, there is no point in using the more expensive dark rum. We must immediately make a reservation that each recipe written below is made from white rum, even if its color is not indicated there. But this is far from an axiom, and some cocktails with dark rum exist, which must be indicated separately in the recipe. Most often, you can find cocktails with golden rum - it is among all whites that it is best suited for this purpose.

Cuba Libre

This recipe is also known as Rum Cola. Everyone saw in stores low alcohol drinks with that name. So, they convey only a small part of the rich taste that a real rum and cola cocktail has. In short, it is definitely worth a try, especially since it is prepared quickly, and the financial costs are minimal.

  • Rum - 100 ml;
  • Cola - 200 ml;
  • Lime;

The preparation is also very simple:

  1. Mix rum and cola in one glass;
  2. We fall asleep there ice;
  3. We cut the lime into slices. 1 slice - 1 glass. But this moment is very controversial and not everyone likes this fruit in a cocktail.

This cocktail with rum is drunk through a straw, and not in one gulp. You have to taste it.

Rum with juice

The second recipe, which is similar to the first one, is rum with juice. It is better to use citrus juice: orange, lemon, tropical mix. But everyone has their own tastes and it is worth trying to experiment. Most commonly used Orange juice.

The proportions are slightly different than in the previous case: now rum and juice are diluted 1:3. Fans of rum-based cocktails note exactly this ratio as the most successful.

Mojito

Mojito is probably the most famous rum and mint cocktail in the world. Everyone has heard of it, but not everyone has tried it. If you have a bottle of rum, sprite and some other additives, then making it will not be difficult. So, mojito is prepared as follows:

  • Rum and sprite are mixed in a glass in a ratio of 1:2;
  • Mint and 3 spoons are also poured there cane sugar;
  • Everything is thoroughly mixed so that the sugar is completely dissolved;
  • Ice falls to the middle;
  • Lime is cut into 2 parts and juice is squeezed out of one into a glass;
  • Re-mix the cocktail;
  • Add ice to the top of the glass.

Mojito is ready! Sprite plays a special role here - it acts as a substitute for soda. In addition, the sprite added to the mojito instead of the usual soda gives the cocktail a special taste. As an experiment, you can use Schweppes - you get a very original and interesting taste. By the way, here it may well replace sambuca rum. The taste will be somewhat different, but also very interesting.

Pina colada

Pina Colada is a rum-based cocktail with a very delicate taste. Here the main role is played by the creamy-coconut flavor, and all the rest serve only as additional shades. Any woman will love it.   • 50 ml - pineapple juice;
  • 15 ml - 10% cream;
  • Pineapple slice (used for decoration);
  • A couple of ice cubes.

For cooking, you need a blender. On the extreme case suitable mixer. Go:

  • All ingredients are poured and poured into a blender and whipped;
  • Through a sieve, a cocktail with white rum is poured into a glass;
  • A straw is inserted, and a slice of pineapple is put on the side of the glass.

This coconut milk rum cocktail is very interesting and even men should not shy away from trying it.

Caipirissima

You can find another rum cocktail recipe, the name of which is very similar to Caipirissima - Caipirinha. But these are different things. The first uses rum, and the second uses cachaca. So, to make this shot, you should prepare:

  • 100 ml of rum;
  • 2 tsp cane sugar;
  • 1 lime;
  • A couple of ice cubes.

The preparation is as follows:

  1. The lime is cut into 4 pieces. 2 of them are placed in a glass;
  2. Sugar is poured on top and the lime is crushed hard so that as much juice as possible comes out;
  3. Rum is poured, in which crushed lime should be chatted a little, after which the lime is removed from the glass;
  4. Ice and mint sprig are added.

Daiquiri

Daiquiri is another super popular cocktail. It is prepared from the same ingredients as the previous one. The proportions are the same. The very same technology for making a cocktail is as follows:

  1. Ice, lime juice, sugar and rum are poured into a blender and whipped until smooth;
  2. Poured into a glass from which champagne is drunk;
  3. You can submit!

Some people prefer to add various berries and fruit juices. Best of all "come" "soft" tastes. So, most often you can find the strawberry Daiquiri. The glass must be chilled before filling it with a cocktail.

Long Island

Long Island is a real mix of a variety of alcoholic beverages. And, although you can find the name "Long Island Ice Tea", which unambiguously alludes to cold tea, do not be deceived - there will not be a smell of tea there and close! So, we will need:

  • 15 ml of rum;
  • 15 ml of vodka;
  • 15 ml of tequila;
  • 15 ml of gin;
  • 15 ml Cointreau liqueur;
  • 25 ml lemon juice;
  • 30 ml of sugar syrup;
  • 30 ml of cola;
  • 2 ice cubes.

The preparation is very simple and compensates for the long collection of ingredients: we put everything in tumbler, add Cointreau and mix well. You can garnish the glass with a lime wedge on top.

The presence of Cointreau liqueur in a cocktail makes its taste richer and more varied. The taste from Cointreau is bitter-sour-sweet. Very reminiscent of oranges, which are part of the liqueur. In general, Cointreau gives the taste some "warm" shades.

Captain Bucci

Unlike all the cocktails described above, this one will not be to everyone's taste. First of all, because of their spicy taste and smell. Make sure you have:

  • Spicy rum "Captain Morgan" - 100 ml;
  • Ginger ale - 300 ml;
  • 1 lime;
  • A couple of ice cubes.

Cooking is pretty fast.

  1. Pour rum and ale into a glass;
  2. We put half a lime there;
  3. Squeeze lime and discard;
  4. From above we fall asleep ice;
  5. Ready.

El Presidente

For a cocktail, we need vermouth and orange liqueur. So let's prepare the ingredients:

  • Dry vermouth;
  • Liquor;
  • Syrup Grenadine;
  • Lime.

In a shaker, mix 2 parts rum and 1 part vermouth. Please note that vermouth must be taken dry. To them we add another 1 part of liquor and a couple of drops of Grenadine. Shake thoroughly and pour into a glass.

Conclusion

All of the above homemade rum cocktails are refreshing and, so to speak, “summer”. They are pleasant to drink during the summer heat, as they are able to give a drop of coolness. Out of the picture stands out, perhaps, Pina Colada at the expense of creamy taste. But it's also perfect for a hot summer day.

It is also worth noting that this is simple cocktails with rum. There are much more complicated recipes, but their manufacture will cause certain difficulties for unprepared people. There is simply no point in repeating this at home - far from always necessary ingredients can even be found online. It's easier to go and order them from a professional bartender. Well, do not forget that all this - alcoholic cocktails and, no matter how tasty they would not be, it is definitely impossible to abuse them.
