This cake recipe was given to me by my classmate at the institute, she called it “Poor student”. Student years have long passed, life has divorced with a fellow student, the profession acquired at the institute has been safely forgotten, it feeds a completely different work, but the recipe has not been forgotten. The account of its use by me has been going on for decades, and so far it has not failed. Sharing it really simple recipe cake with jam. By the way, about the title. We will need:

Flour 2.5 cups;

Jam 0.5 cups;

Milk 1 glass;

Sugar 1 glass;

Cake recipe with jam

First of all, a baking container is prepared; out of student habit, I use the old cast iron skillet. Silicone molds does not need lubrication, and metal containers should be lubricated with refined oil. Since the dough is kneaded quickly, the oven immediately turns on with the temperature set to 220 degrees.

We sift the flour, measure the required volume of sugar, milk and jam, put a bottle of butter, soda and a bite at hand to ensure quick dough kneading. Let's get started. With a whisk (it is more convenient for them), we combine sugar with eggs. A classmate said that you can make a cake without eggs, but I have never tried without them. At the expense of sugar, one glass is the norm for a sweet tooth, it is quite possible to put half a glass.


Add jam, I use jam syrup. I especially like cherry, the berries go to make bagels or cookies, and the remaining syrup is stored in a jar until it's time to make a cupcake. And add milk, I like sour milk better. We work with a whisk.


Add sunflower oil. In principle, you can use homemade vegetable oil, but then the cake will acquire a characteristic aftertaste. When using refined oil from the store, only the taste of jam is felt. Pour the flour and already mix the mass with a spoon.


Add the last component of soda, extinguished with a bite.


The dough turns out to be watery, which should not confuse you. Pour it into the prepared container, send it to the oven. After half an hour, you can look into it, if the cake has darkened and the edges are aiming to move away, then you can take it out. It is possible that it will take longer to bake. The cake comes out of the mold while still hot.


In this cake recipe, you can use additional ingredients. For example, raisins. Hard plums or apples are good. Some fruit is taken, which should be cut into thin slices. soft varieties you should not take it, otherwise you will get porridge, not a cake. For beauty, it can be sprinkled with powdered sugar, but this is not necessary. It will keep at room temperature for 3-4 days. Happy tea!



Put jam or jam in a bowl. Add soda quenched with vinegar and mix. The mixture will expand and change color.

  8. With a teaspoon, carefully distribute the jam into the recesses, trying not to glass it to the edges of the mold.
  9. After that, put another tablespoon or a little on top. more dough. We begin to lay it out from the edges so that the jam does not leak out to them.
  10. When all future muffins with jam are “packed”, we send the form to the oven for 20 minutes. After this time, turn off the oven, but do not get the cupcakes. We leave the oven ajar and let our pastries cool in the oven.
  11. Remove the pan from the oven and carefully remove the muffins from it. Try to be extremely careful so that the pastries do not wrinkle and the jam does not leak out during the transfer to the serving dish - this will ruin the whole surprise!
  12. Decorate the muffins to your liking. A very beautiful combination will turn out if you sprinkle the cupcakes with powdered sugar, and pour a thin stream of the same jam on top as inside.

  7. Put another piece of dough on top to close the jam. We spread the dough from the edges, gradually closing the jam and making sure that it does not squeeze out to the edges of the molds.
  8. After that, we send future muffins with jam to bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes.
