Meatballs in sour cream tomato sauce in a slow cooker. Meatballs with gravy in a slow cooker recipe

Servings: 6
Cooking time: 1 hour 10 minutes

Recipe Description

Meatballs in a slow cooker is a new dish for me. I used to cook soup with meatballs, but I didn’t even consider it as a separate dish. It turned out that they can be not only in the soup.

Basically, these meatballs are made from minced chicken or fish. You don't have to buy it, you can make your own.

If you cut greens into minced meat and pour seasonings, the taste will become more expressive. And yet, I add a loaf, previously soaked in milk. This time I had to do without him - the children drank the milk;).

I think there is nothing complicated in this dish. And if you have all the ingredients on hand, we can start cooking.

To cook meatballs in a slow cooker you need:

  • Minced chicken - 1 kg.
  • Onion - 1 pc.
  • Chicken egg - 1 pc.
  • Salt, pepper - to taste.
  • Spices.
  • Mixture of frozen vegetables;
  • Refined oil for frying.

Cooking step by step:

We spread the minced meat on a deep plate (if you used meat, then we twist it in a meat grinder). Peel the onion and finely cut into cubes. We drive in the egg, salt, pepper and sprinkle with spices. We mix everything well.

We form small balls (hands can be moistened with water so that the stuffing does not stick to the hands). Sift the flour into a plate and coat the meatballs in it on all sides.

Fry them on both sides until golden brown in the “Baking” or “Frying” mode (15-20 minutes).

Like this.

While the meatballs are frying, let's take care of the vegetables. To do this, clean the onions and carrots. We cut the onion into small cubes, rub the carrots on a coarse grater.

The composition of the frozen vegetables that I added to the dish includes: green beans, bell peppers, cauliflower, corn.

We turn on the slow cooker and select the "Extinguishing" mode for 40 minutes. Pour a small amount of oil, put carrots, onions and frozen vegetables. Roast vegetables for 10 minutes. We stir.

Next, send the fried meatballs to the slow cooker and pour 200 ml of water or broth. Salt and pepper to taste. The multicooker can be closed with a lid. We turn the valve to pressure cooker mode, switch to “Own recipe” and set it manually for 10 minutes. After the end of cooking signal sounds, wait 10-15 minutes for the pressure to drop and open the lid. Enjoy your meal!

Culinary professionals delight the population of our country with new inventions and fashionable technologies. This can be attributed to cooking in a slow cooker. This method is not only convenient, but also useful. After all, the products are prepared in their own juice, and the vitamin composition is preserved in large quantities. Therefore, those who prefer a healthy diet will appreciate the dishes prepared in a slow cooker.

It should be noted that in this way you can cook any dish. Soups and side dishes, cutlets and boiled meat, fish, vegetables, cereals, desserts and much more. For example, very juicy and tasty are obtained in a slow cooker. To do this, you need to take a kilogram of meat, you can have a bird, two hundred grams of white bread (a loaf is ideal), a couple of onions, you can have a clove of garlic, an egg, salt, pepper to taste and vegetable oil for stewing. in a slow cooker is very simple and will not take much time from the hostesses. And your loved ones will enjoy the unspeakable pleasure of delicacy. By the way, these are unusually tender and are the best suited for baby food.

We start cooking meatballs in a slow cooker. Make minced meat from meat, then add

Onion cut into small cubes, loaf soaked in milk, beaten egg. It is recommended to beat the egg well with a whisk until fluffy foam, so that the meatballs are airy and more tender. Then mix everything well until smooth and make round meatballs. If the mass sticks to your hands, you can moisten your hands with cold water.

Models of multicookers are not particularly different from each other: some simply may not have this or that function. For example, a baking or frying program may not be available. If we cook meatballs in, you should not worry, because it has all the functions we need.

So let's continue. In a saucepan greased with vegetable oil, we put our meat preparations. At the same time, prepare the sauce in which they will languish. To do this, dilute tomato sauce in a liter of boiled water (it can be prepared from fresh tomatoes). Add any spices to taste. Most often it is salt, ground black pepper, bay leaf, dried dill. I put some sour cream. Pour the meat balls with the sauce and select the "Stew" program. We choose the time for cooking - 1 hour.

If you decide in a slow cooker, you can immediately think about a side dish. From below in a saucepan we cook meat, and from above we put a grate on which you can cook potatoes or other vegetables. A steamed vegetable side dish is especially tender and deliciously fragrant. This is another advantage of cooking in a slow cooker: you can cook several dishes at the same time.

And now the cooking time has come to an end. However, it is not recommended to immediately get the meatballs. It is better to let them stay there for another fifteen or twenty minutes - then the meat balls will turn out to be more juicy and rich. When the time comes, you need to get the meatballs and put them on plates, put steamed vegetables on the side, pour plenty of sauce and decorate with herbs. Everything, you can call all your relatives and friends to the table.

Among all the unpretentious meat dishes, it is meatballs that most often help out beginners and experienced housewives. The first is attracted by simple preparation and guaranteed results, the second by fast cooking and the opportunity to experiment with sauces.

You can cook meatballs in different ways: in a saucepan, in a double boiler oven, in a pan. However, the easiest way is to use a slow cooker. Firstly, you don’t have to follow the dish, the multi-cook will do everything. Meatballs in a slow cooker will not burn, and the sauce will not leak out. Secondly, there will be a minimum of dirty dishes after the completion of the workflow. Thirdly, the dish will retain the maximum amount of vitamins and nutrients.

Meatballs with gravy in a slow cooker - general principles of cooking

The basis for cooking juicy meatballs in sauce in a slow cooker is minced meat. You can buy it ready-made or make your own. Any type of meat is suitable: beef, pork, lamb, poultry. Self-cooked minced meat is preferable.

A piece of meat should be washed with cold water, dried with paper towels, cut into small pieces for grinding. Then skip them twice through a meat grinder, chop in a powerful blender or food processor.

If you want to preserve the taste of fresh meat, you need to add a minimum of spices: salt, pepper, neutral seasonal herbs, fresh or dried. To get a richer bright taste, suneli hops, coriander, mushroom dressing, etc. are added to the meat base.

Boiled rice or soaked pieces of bread can be added to minced meat if desired. The additive softens tough meat fibers and gives the dish additional flavors.

There are two ways to cook meat. Meatballs in a slow cooker can be fried first, and then stewed, or stewed without prior frying. In the first case, the dish will turn out tastier, in the second - lower in calories and healthier.

Sauce is a must for the meatballs. Thanks to stewing in fragrant gravy, meat pieces turn out to be very juicy and tender. The basis for the sauce can be tomato paste (very tasty and the most budget option), fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, cheese, cream.

Meatballs in tomato paste sauce

An easy and budget-friendly way to cook meatballs with gravy in a slow cooker is to use tomato paste to make a sour fresh sauce. Instead of store-bought pasta, you can use homemade tomato ketchup or make a filling from fresh tomatoes.

Ingredients:

Five hundred grams of any minced meat;

Two small bulbs;

Two medium carrots;

Four tablespoons of tomato paste;

Three cloves of garlic;

A mixture of peppers for dressing;

Vegetable oil for frying;

Greens according to the season or desire.

Cooking method:

Prepare homemade minced meat or defrost store-bought.

Peel and mince the garlic.

Wash the herbs, pat dry and chop very finely.

Mix minced meat with herbs and garlic. If you make minced meat yourself, you can chop the herbs and garlic along with the meat.

Salt the meat, add the right amount of pepper and spices to your taste, knead thoroughly.

From the resulting mass, form small meatballs a little larger than a walnut. So that the meat dough does not stick to your hands, you need to moisten your fingers with cold water.

Remove the husk from the onion and cut into thin half rings or small cubes.

Peel the carrots and grate on a coarse grater. You can cut carrots into thin sticks. The larger the carrot particles, the more pronounced the carrot flavor will be in the sauce.

Switch on the frying program.

Pour a spoonful of vegetable oil into the thicket of the multicooker and wait 2-3 minutes until it warms up.

Put the chopped onion pieces in the oil, fry for five minutes.

Add carrots and fry for another five minutes.

Put the vegetable dressing out of the multicooker bowl (or just move the vegetables to the side) and fry the meatballs on both sides on the remaining oil. The meat piece should be browned on each side.

Screw onion-carrot dressing into the slow cooker, add tomato paste, pour ¾ cup of water. Mix the sauce so that the tomato paste is evenly distributed.

Salt the sauce to taste, you can add more pepper or spices.

Switch the slow cooker to the stewing mode and cook for 20 minutes.

After the beep, do not turn off the device for another 15 minutes. Thanks to the temperature maintenance mode, meatballs with watering in the slow cooker will languish and become the most tender.

  • Ready-made meat pieces can be prepared for future use and frozen in the freezer. This will not affect the taste of the dish, but it will greatly simplify the meal plan for a large family. The hostess will only have to remove the semi-finished product from the freezer and immediately use it. Fast and delicious!
  • Frozen meatballs do not need to be defrosted before being sent to the slow cooker for stewing. However, the cooking time is given by 10 minutes to increase.
  • If the meatballs are breaded in flour, they can be laid out in 2-3 layers. Pieces due to breading do not stick together. You can bread both fresh and frozen semi-finished products.

Meatballs in a slow cooker

I like to cook simple dishes that do not require a lot of time and attention. One of these dishes is meatballs stewed in a variety of sauces in a slow cooker. Meatballs can be prepared in advance and frozen, then the cooking process is even more simplified.

Ingredients:

for meatballs:

  • 500 g minced meat (I have pork)
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • salt, ground pepper

for the sauce:

  • 1 tbsp ketchup (or tomato paste)
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise (or sour cream)
  • 0.5 - 1 multi glass of water
  • dried paprika
  • greens (parsley, dill, I have frozen ones)
  • salt, ground pepper

for breading:

  • 0.5 tbsp flour
  • 0.5 tbsp breadcrumbs

How to cook meatballs in sauce in a slow cooker:

To the minced meat, add the onion passed through a meat grinder or chopped with a blender. Add eggs, breadcrumbs, salt and pepper. Mix everything well.

For breading, mix breadcrumbs and flour, form meatballs a little larger than a walnut from minced meat, roll in breading and put in a multicooker bowl. You can spread it in two layers - the breading will not allow the meatballs to stick together. Frozen meatballs do not need to be thawed.

For the sauce, mix all ingredients in a separate bowl. Pour the sauce over the meatballs in a bowl.

Cook meatballs in a slow cooker in the “stewing” mode for 40-45 minutes.

After the beep, meatballs can be served as an independent dish or with your favorite side dish.

Enjoy your meal!!!
