What vegetable juices are the healthiest? Healthiest juices.

Freshly squeezed juices are healthy - this is an indisputable fact.

Many juices have medicinal properties, thanks to substances that have an anti-inflammatory and cleansing effect.
They increase immunity and have a beneficial effect on sleep disorders, depression, and increased fatigue.

Freshly squeezed juices basically not particularly high in calories, which means they are suitable for diets aimed at weight loss.
The fruit acids present in fresh juices improve the body's ability to absorb food.

Freshly squeezed juices: harm

This statement may seem to directly contradict the above, but it is absolutely true.
The fact is that with a number of diseases, certain freshly squeezed juices can really cause.

For instance, sour juices(apple, lemon, cranberry, etc.) is not recommended for peptic ulcers of the stomach and duodenum.
Freshly squeezed grape juice, due to the high calorie content and high glucose content, it is not suitable for diabetes and overweight.

Almost all juices should be taken with caution or even from them with increased intestinal excitability, diarrhea. After all, most juices have a laxative effect and activate the work of the intestines and stomach.

It is worth consulting with your doctor before you start drinking freshly squeezed juices during pregnancy and lactation. Young children should also be given them with caution, starting with small doses and after consulting a doctor.

carrot juice, despite a lot of useful properties, can cause severe liver diseases. This happens when the drink is consumed immoderately.

Freshly squeezed tomato juice is truly dangerous for any poisoning, even in the most insignificant form. The fact is that it contains a number of substances that can significantly aggravate the patient's condition.
The use of this juice should be consulted by a doctor for patients with cholelithiasis, stomach ulcers.

No freshly squeezed juices should be taken uncontrollably. First, increased fluid intake in itself is not good for the cardiovascular system. Secondly, even the most useful products in excess doses can only bring harm.

Do not forget about allergic reactions. If you are allergic to citrus fruits, then you will have to exclude all juices related to this type.
Also, for allergy sufferers, there is a risk when drinking juices from red, yellow, orange fruits and vegetables.

How to drink fresh juices

It's not a particularly complex science, and yet it's best to stick to some rules.

Firstly, the amount of freshly squeezed juices drunk per day should not exceed three glasses. The optimal dose is 0.3 liters.
No need to think that the more you drink, the more pronounced the effect will be. Juices do not heal on their own. They have a general strengthening effect, preventive, health-improving. In the treatment of diseases, freshly squeezed juices are drunk as an additional therapy, and not instead of it.

Juices to drink no later than 15 minutes after preparation otherwise they will lose theirs from contact with air. The exception is beetroot juice, which should stand for 2-3 hours.
If you need to dilute the juice, it is better to use not plain water for this, but mineral water; if plain water is taken, then it must be clean and must be boiled.

Drinking freshly squeezed juices is best apart from food. It is good to drink a glass of this drink between meals or at least half an hour before or half an hour after a meal. This is especially true for fruit juices, which can activate fermentation processes in the stomach.

After drinking freshly squeezed juices, especially sour ones, you need to rinse your mouth thoroughly. The fact is that fruit acids can corrode enamel, young children are most at risk in this regard.
As for babies, it is better to consult a pediatrician about at what age and what freshly squeezed juices to give him. In any case, you should start with a few teaspoons.

Many juices are best drunk mixed with other juices or drinks.
For example, carrot juice is better absorbed if you add a few drops of vitamin E, a little milk or cream to it.
A few drops of vegetable oil will increase the digestibility of tomato juice, but salt will destroy useful substances in it.

Fruit juices are best mixed with vegetable juices.- so they will be less sweet. In addition, we get more vitamins from fruits, and minerals from vegetables. So the mixture will be quite balanced.

Fruit juices with stones should not be mixed with juices of fruits containing seeds. For example, peach juice does not go well with apple juice.
You can mix freshly squeezed juices, adhering to the color rule - we mix the juices of yellow fruits with other yellow ones, green ones with green ones, and so on.

All freshly squeezed juices should be made from high-quality ripe, well-washed and peeled fruits.

Freshly squeezed juices: storage

Freshly squeezed juices storage is not recommended., from contact with air they deteriorate. But if there is such a need, sometimes you can resort to such a trick: pour the juice into a glass jar, and pour lemon juice on top so that it does not let air through. Then close and store in the refrigerator for no more than 8 hours.

We like fresh juices because they are delicious. But to delight our taste and quench our thirst is not their main purpose.

What are useful

Freshly squeezed juices supply our body with minerals, enzymes, plant pigments, tannins, and essential oils. Juices are a source of vitamins, including C, P, E, K and carotene, which are not synthesized in the human body and must be constantly supplied with food.

Nutritionists have found that natural juices trigger cleansing mechanisms in the body: they accelerate urine and sweating, normalize blood and lymph flow. Lovers of freshly squeezed juices are less likely to catch colds, and they look younger than their peers.

Organic acids (malic, citric) and essential oils of fresh juices stimulate the secretion of the digestive glands and thus improve digestion and assimilation of food. They can partly compensate for the lack of hydrochloric acid in a number of diseases accompanied by low gastric acidity. The inclusion of juices in the diet halves the risk of oncological diseases of the digestive system and bladder.

Potassium salts, which are abundant in any fruit juice, remove excess fluid. That is why doctors recommend fresh vegetable and fruit juices to those who want to protect themselves from diseases of the cardiovascular system and kidneys. And juices with pulp are rich in pectins, which improve intestinal motility, help to remove excess cholesterol from the body.

Juice carbohydrates consist mainly of fructose and glucose. In apple juice, fructose is 4 times more than sucrose, in cherry - almost 15 times. Fructose less than sucrose affects the increase in blood sugar levels, thereby protecting the body from obesity and diabetes. Easily digestible carbohydrates of natural fruits and vegetables have a beneficial effect (compared to refined sugar) on metabolism. If you want to lose weight, drink low-calorie and fat-splitting juices - apple, pineapple, grapefruit, orange, tomato, cucumber, carrot, cabbage. Freshly squeezed juice is best drunk immediately after preparation.

Thermal treatment during industrial production, of course, allows to preserve the nutritional value of juices in many respects, but the greatest amount of useful substances is still found in freshly prepared drinks. In addition, sugar syrup and aromatic substances are added to many canned juices to improve the taste, and this increases their calorie content.

Let's go through the list

Orange juice- contains a large amount of plant flavonoids, which prevent the development of oncological and cardiovascular diseases. Stimulates the appetite, strengthens the nerves, has a slight tonic and antiseptic effect. Orange juice with pulp contains a lot of soluble fiber (pectin), which increases intestinal motility, helping to prevent constipation. Drinking freshly squeezed juice for breakfast provides your body with a daily dose of vitamin C.

Grape juice- an effective diuretic and expectorant. It contains easily digestible carbohydrates (glucose and fructose), organic acids (tartaric, malic), minerals (potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese), vitamin C and B vitamins. Grape juice has a beneficial effect on the functioning of the heart muscle, has laxative effect, useful in some diseases of the kidneys, liver, lungs.

Grapefruit juice- stimulates metabolism, tones, improves digestion and production of gastric juice, has a bactericidal and antipyretic effect, perfectly removes excess fluid from the body, contributing to weight loss and cleansing of toxins, moreover, it contains few calories and tastes great.

potato juice- a source of calcium and magnesium salts, which reduce tension from muscles and blood vessels, normalize blood pressure. For a long time, raw potato juice has been used to treat stomach ulcers, duodenal ulcers and gastritis with high acidity. At one time, 30–50 g is enough. The treatment is combined with a sparing diet.

carrot juice it is valuable, first of all, for carotene (provitamin A), which has a positive effect on vision and perfectly restores strength during mental and physical stress. It is widely used in clinical nutrition for diseases of the liver, kidneys, cardiovascular system. Thanks to the cobalt and iron salts contained in carrots, it is useful for anemia.

cucumber juice- an excellent diuretic. The high content of potassium makes cucumber juice a valuable drink for high blood pressure. Strengthens the nervous system, prevents atherosclerosis, improves memory, prevents hair loss.

Sea buckthorn juice It is famous for its bioactive substances that bring relief from many diseases - hypertension and hypotension, coronary heart disease, beriberi, gastritis, stomach ulcers, disorders of the endocrine and central nervous systems. In sea buckthorn juice, unlike most other berries and fruits, there is no ascorbinase, an enzyme that destroys vitamin C. Therefore, ascorbic acid, which is contained in the berry, is stored for a long time.

beetroot juice- it contains real deposits of fiber, sugar and organic acids (for example, malic and citric acids), which enhance intestinal motility. Vitamin P, which is in this juice, takes care of the elasticity of blood vessels. Betaine lowers the level of cholesterol in the blood, normalizes the functioning of the liver.

Tomato juice rich in vitamin C, carotene, B vitamins. It is especially useful for diseases of the cardiovascular system, constipation. Low calorie content allows you to prepare light and nutritious dishes from tomato juice (cold soups, sauces, snacks, cocktails) during a diet. This juice is often mixed with apple, pumpkin and lemon juice (2:4:2:1) for weight loss. And recently, scientists have found that freshly squeezed tomato juice prevents premature aging.

pumpkin juice rich in carotene, it also contains salts of potassium, iron, vitamins of group B. Useful for diseases of the cardiovascular system, kidneys. A glass of fresh pumpkin juice a day is recommended for those who suffer from edema.

Due to the high content of tannins, blueberry juice is known as an excellent fixing and anti-inflammatory agent. And the juice from this berry is famous for its ability to improve eyesight, relieve eye strain that occurs after work, especially at the computer, and prevent the development of glaucoma and cataracts.

Apple juice- the most popular since ancient times. Contains vitamin C, natural sugars, potassium, magnesium salts, phosphorus, iron, malic and citric organic acids. This drink is especially useful for overweight, loss of strength, diseases of the cardiovascular and nervous system, anemia, gastritis. If you have gastritis with high acidity, drink juice from sweet varieties of apples, suffer from gastritis with low acidity - lean on sour varieties (for example, Antonovka).

Practice

Squeeze the juice from 1 fresh beet, 1 black radish and 1 carrot, mix them in equal proportions. To evaporate irritating substances that can cause nausea, soak the resulting "cocktail" in the refrigerator for 2-4 hours.

Take it for 2-3 tbsp. spoons an hour before meals for a month: this wonderful tonic increases blood hemoglobin, improves metabolism, normalizes blood pressure and gives the skin a blooming look.

Cocktail for a day of unloading

In the morning, prepare a cocktail for the whole day from a liter of freshly squeezed grapefruit and orange juice, as well as 100-150 ml of lemon juice. Dilute the drink with a small amount of boiled or lightly carbonated mineral water and drink during the day in small portions.

refreshing cocktail

Pour 50–70 ml of freshly squeezed apple juice into a glass, add ice cubes. Garnish your cocktail with a sprig of mint and savor it on a festive summer evening through a straw.

It is believed that freshly squeezed juices are the shortest way to health, perfect face skin and a thin waist. Is it really? Or are we being misled again?

Myth #1: Pineapple juice is a super fat burner.

Successful lies of marketers. A few years ago, there was a boom in the country for a new method of losing weight using pineapple extract tablets. In addition to these pills, women actively ate pineapples (including sweet canned ones!) and drank juice from them. The composition of the pills for weight loss included bromelain(plant enzyme), which was extracted from pineapples.

Sellers promised hassle-free rapid fat burning. At the same time, they kept silent about the fact that bromelain is produced industrially not from the pulp of pineapples, but from its inedible core and from the very trunk of the pineapple tree. And most importantly - bromelain is able to break down only proteins (which improves digestion), but not fat. Taking bromelain for weight loss is useless. Drinking pineapple juice to burn fat is even more unjustified.

Nevertheless, freshly squeezed pineapple juice improves memory, relieves swelling, and cleanses blood vessels. Drink it to your health!

Myth number 2. A glass of juice is better than a kilogram of vegetables or fruits.

The statement is true only on one side: for a quick “recharge” with vitamins and minerals, it is indeed much easier to drink juice than to eat a kilogram of carrots. Freshly squeezed juices deliver valuable nutrients to our body in the form in which they are best absorbed.

However, vegetables and fruits contain a large amount of fiber, which cleanses the body and improves its functioning. The body spends a lot of energy, effort and time on their digestion. But juices are absorbed very quickly, and the digestive system practically does not make any effort to do this. Valuable dietary fiber remains in the juicer after juicing. In parallel with juices, you need to eat a sufficient amount of vegetables and fruits. Due to the rapid digestibility, fresh juices are not recommended to be mixed with heavier foods, so that there are no difficulties in digestion.

Myth number 3. Juice from the package replaces fresh

Freshly squeezed juices are the source enzymes and pure organic water, which is found only in fresh plant foods and gives the body invaluable benefits.

Canned juices (both homemade and store-bought) are subjected to heat treatment and the addition of preservatives, due to which priceless enzymes and many nutrients are mercilessly destroyed, and organic water becomes inorganic, that is, inanimate and akin to tap water.

Myth #4: Freshly squeezed juices help you lose weight.

No, this is not entirely true, unless we are talking about a starvation diet. In addition to the benefits that you can derive from fresh juice, you need to remember that during fruit juices a lot of fruit Sahara. Uncontrolled use of them can lead you to imperceptible weight gain. Treat fruit juice the same way you would a dessert: consider its calorie content, time of intake, and the amount of carbohydrates it contains. If you want to lose weight, don't get too carried away with fruit juices, especially grape(100 ml contains 29 grams of sugar).

Vegetable juices are best not to replace a serving of vegetables on your plate. However, a glass of juice between meals will not be superfluous.

Myth #5. Nectar and juice are the same thing.

Not at all. Nectar is prepared on the basis of juice with the addition of water or sugar syrup. Usually nectar is made from peaches, bananas, mangoes and other not very juicy fruits.

Myth number 6. Juice quenches thirst

A very common opinion. Unfortunately, this is not so. For our body, drinking is only pure water. The stomach perceives juices as food: it contains nutrients, vitamins, sugar and calories. The rule is simple: we drink water and eat juices.

Myth number 7. Fresh can be stored in the refrigerator for a long time.

There are exactly as many vitamins in fresh juices as there are in fruits and vegetables. However, many vitamins are destroyed by exposure to air, sunlight or as a result of long-term storage (vitamins A, C, E, B 2 , B 4 , B 12). Freshly squeezed juices drink immediately after preparation and do not store for future use- it's useless. In addition, juices stored in the refrigerator for a long time can change their color and lose their taste.

Maximum fresh juice storage time - 1-2 hours.

Myth number 8. The best start to the day is a glass of freshly squeezed juice.

Dietitians and gastroenterologists do not recommend drinking fresh juices on an empty stomach. The aggressive acidity of certain fruits (especially citrus fruits) can cause a lot of stomach problems over time. It is all the more dangerous to start your day with fresh juices for people suffering from gastritis, ulcers, pancreatitis and other gastrointestinal diseases. Doctors only allow certain types of juices to be drunk on an empty stomach, mostly vegetable juices: carrot juice, white cabbage juice or potato juice.

How to prepare and consume fresh juice in order to get the maximum benefit?

. The Healthiest Juice You'll Get From seasonal vegetables and fruits. Therefore, winter is a good reason to try vegetable juices, but in summer and autumn - to enjoy vegetable, fruit, and berry fresh juices - this is the best time for freshly squeezed juices. In the spring, pay attention to vegetables and fruits with a dense or thick skin: vitamins are stored under the skin. At this time of the year, the maximum concentration of substances useful for the body is in carrots, grapefruit, kiwi and white cabbage.

. Vegetables and fruits for juicing must be fresh, free of stains, wormholes and islands of rot or mold. Mold is dangerous because it can penetrate deep into the product. Even if you remove the visible part of the apple from the surface, this will not help you get rid of the mold in the whole apple.

Vegetables and fruits for juices

. Before juicing, thoroughly wash vegetables and fruits with a brush under running water. Sort the leaves of greenery and remove withered or sluggish twigs. Vegetables such as cauliflower, broccoli, celery disassemble into inflorescences, separate the stems and rinse each separately.

. Freshly squeezed juices should be drunk either 30-40 minutes before a meal, or 1 hour after a meal. A great start to the day is a plate of healthy porridge, preferably oatmeal, which gently envelops the stomach, and an hour after breakfast - a glass of fruit juice. This way you won't harm your stomach!

. Add a few drops of butter or cream to carrot juice: vitamin A is absorbed only in the presence of vegetable or animal fats.

. Acidic citrus juices or berries are best drunk through a straw to avoid the harmful effects of acid on tooth enamel.

Healthy recipes based on natural juices

. For the best hair growth drink a mixture of sweet pepper and carrot juice, prepared in a 1: 1 ratio.

carrots and peppers

Rub sea buckthorn juice into the hair roots - it not only improves growth, but also gives a luxurious salon shine.

. Lemon juice in the form of a mask is very refreshing facial skin: Mix 1 tablespoon of honey with 1 tablespoon of oatmeal and add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Apply the mask for 20 minutes and then wash off with cool water. You need to make such masks regularly 1-2 times a week.

Do not forget that everything useful is good in moderation! Be healthy and dazzle with your beauty! Yours sincerely, Natalie Lissy

Potential damage from juice consumption

Many people believe that juice from the store is a natural and therefore healthy product that can be drunk in unlimited quantities. But this is not always the case for many reasons:

  • Often such juice contains a lot of sugar and calories. Experts have found that a 250 gram pack of juice can contain up to 6 teaspoons of sugar. One liter of grape juice contains 1100 kcal, and 1 liter of apple juice contains 900 kcal. Most store-bought juices increase appetite and thus cause the accumulation of extra pounds. Too much sugar in them can cause diabetes.

  • Some drinks are labeled "sugar-free" or "low-sugar" on the packaging. However, sometimes the sugar in them is replaced by artificial sweeteners. Although they do not contain calories, but in principle they are not much better than sugar.

  • Most juices contain many acids that contribute to the destruction of tooth enamel. Acidic juices "absorb" calcium from the body and therefore must be used with great care, especially in osteoporosis.

  • A large amount of juice taken in a short time can lead to chronic diarrhea.

  • There are contraindications for the use of natural juices: for example, ulcerative colitis, gastritis with increased secretion, pancreatitis, ulcers and others.

100% natural juices are rare in stores and can usually be recognized at a higher price. The most common way of processing and producing store-bought juices is by diluting the juice concentrate with water. WITH OK it almost always comes to stores from another country, water is added to it on the spot, and then it is sold. Unfortunately, in the process of concentration under the influence of high temperature, half of the vitamins are destroyed, aromatic substances are dispersed, and some amino acids and carbohydrates change their structure and become not useful for the body.

When juice is restored, not only water is added to it, but also sugar or its substitutes, citric acid, natural flavors, even preservatives. Nectar can also be obtained from reconstituted juices. It is an artificial drink made from concentrate, sugar and water. Sometimes citric or ascorbic acid (vitamin C), natural flavors are added to nectars.

The amount of juice in nectars is 25-50%. They are divided into several types:

  • based on traditional juices (orange or apple) by diluting with water and adding sugar;

  • juices of lemon, passion fruit, which have an astringent taste, can be drunk only after adding sugar or mixed with other juices;

  • juices from bananas, peaches, cherries, which are more like pasta.

  • Use only fresh fruits and vegetables without worms or rotten parts.

  • For maximum effect, drink juices in small sips, no later than 10 minutes after preparation.

  • Fruits and vegetables should be clean just before pressing.

  • Drink juice at least 30 minutes before meals.

  • Stone fruit juice (plums, peaches, apricots) should not be mixed with other juices.

  • It is not necessary to peel fruits with thin skin (apples, pears, apricots).

  • Avoid juicing soft fruits (papayas, avocados, mangoes, figs, bananas).

  • Juice stains on clothes can be removed with baking soda or vegetable oil.

Here is just an incomplete list of natural juices, the most beneficial for the body. Pure natural juices are perhaps the best combination of taste and health. After you master the skills of preparing juices, they will always be present in the daily menu.

With the word "juice" we are unlikely to remember celery, beets or pumpkin. But in vain! It is in vegetable juice that there are a lot of vitamins and microelements that are so necessary for our body. In addition, making vegetable juice at home is much cheaper than fruit juice.

Juices from vegetables can hardly be called popular. Despite the benefits, it is rather difficult to get used to their taste, because bitterness, astringency, and green flavor are not what we used to expect from juice. However, this vegetable product is undeservedly deprived of attention, and only vegetarians and people who strive to eat right and saturate the body with natural rather than chemical vitamins have a complete idea of its benefits.

Benefits of vegetable juices

Juices from vegetables are a real storehouse of vitamins and microelements, which are contained in some vegetables in the highest possible natural concentration, and you will not find them in such quantities in juices from fruits and berries.

  • carbohydrates- immediately enter the bloodstream and become a source of energy;
  • vitamins- are included in the composition of enzymes, many times accelerating all biochemical processes in the body;
  • minerals- not a single biochemical process can do without them, and the metabolism consists of a mass of such processes;
  • plant enzymes and hormones- also activate metabolic processes;
  • organic acids- stimulate the production of digestive juices;
  • phytoncides- substances with antibacterial properties;
  • flavonoids- plant pigments that can change the body's response to other substances, such as allergens, viruses, and so on;
  • polyphenols- organic substances of plant origin, which act as powerful antioxidants, have anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, antibacterial properties, positively affect brain activity;
  • chlorophyll- the green pigment contained in green vegetables (zucchini, cucumbers, leafy greens), has a structure at the molecular level close to heme (hemoglobin iron), due to which it helps to strengthen cell membranes, form connective tissues, strengthen immunity.

Vegetable juices as medicine

Like any other drug, vegetable juices need to be taken in limited quantities and done right:

  • Drink juices throughout the fresh vegetable season;
  • Do not exceed the amount of pure juice over 300 ml per day (less is even better);
  • Take juice in 2-3 doses 30 minutes before meals, if it seems too concentrated, dilute with water;
  • Do not drink juice at night - it invigorates and can cause insomnia;
  • Mix juices: take as a basis those that can be drunk in large quantities without harm to health (cucumber, pumpkin, squash, tomato). Mix carrot, beetroot, cabbage and juice of any other vegetables to them. Of all the fruit juices, apple juice pairs best with vegetable juices (a good solution for those who can't drink pure vegetable juice);
  • It is recommended to add leafy green juice to each serving of vegetable juice, i.e. dill, parsley, etc.;
  • Prepare juice before the reception. The exception is beetroot juice, it should stand in a cool place for about an hour, after which it can be added to other vegetable juices;
  • Beetroot juice should be taken gradually, starting with 1 tbsp. l. per day, diluting with water or adding to other juices (but not more than 1/3 cup). The fact is that some people simply cannot drink beetroot juice: it causes nausea and bloating. If you are one of them, then you should not force yourself, because other vegetable juices have the same useful components. And beets can also be eaten boiled or baked;
  • Fasting day once a week on vegetable juices is a great way to cleanse the body and speed up its work. On this day, you need to drink vegetable juices diluted with water. In just 24 hours, you need to drink 1.5 liters of liquid, the ratio of juice and water in which should be 1:3. It is important to completely cleanse the intestines before such a day so that stagnation does not occur due to the lack of solid food.

How do vegetable juices affect the body?

Carrot juice

The main useful substance is carotene, from which vitamin A is formed in the human body.

Vitamin A protects the skin from premature aging, hair becomes shiny, nails do not break or delaminate. Improves vision and immunity.

Carrot juice should be supplemented with 1 tsp. vegetable oil, because vitamin A is fat soluble.
